What materials are needed to support my Joy School Group?
There is an introductory manual you can download once you are enrolled. The manual has all of the information about setting up your group and has the patterns you will need to make your weather chart, calendar, Joy School House and puppets. These items along with other supplies for the children will be placed in the box that travels from house to house. Some groups Keep craft supplies in the box and some each keep their own supplies at home.
How Can I be a good enough teacher? I have no qualifications.
This is something most Mothers' fear but there is no reason you cannot be completely confidant about teaching your children these "Joys". Everything is set up for you to follow including "teaching tips". ValuesParenting.com believes parents are the best teachers for their children. Who can know and understand your child and their needs better than you? Having the specific "joys" and not to mention the joy of learning itself embedded in children from their parents is a great stepping stone to a love of lifelong learning.

Can I do Joy School without having a group?
Yes you can. There are many people who may live in remote areas or not yet acquainted with others in their area and they choose to do Joy School on their own as a family. Many families find the lessons their children learn to greatly benefit their families as a whole. The materials are a great supplement even if their children go to another day care or preschool also.
How much time does it take to prepare a lesson?
The lessons do vary in amount of effort depending on different craft projects etc but once you get going it becomes a way of life. The time frame should decrease after the initial period of preparing lessons . On average it would probably take 30 mins- 1 hour.
What if something in the lesson does not suit my Group?
The great thing about Joy School is the lesson's are all set out for you but they are very flexible. If you feel something is too much for the children that day then you can leave it out. If you can think of a similar activity that is more practical for you to prepare than do that instead. For example if there is a book to be read in your lesson you cannot get a hold of you can find out the General outline and tell it in your own words or find a similar book you have access to.
Remember this is YOUR own Joy School Group and things can easily be tailored to suit your groups specific needs. Keep in mind though the lessons and values have all been tried and tested. For the most part when you follow the "Guidelines" and lesson plans things will run quite smooth.
Can I use the Joy School Curriculum for my "Family Day Care" I provide?
